School Uniform Wardrobe: How Much Clothing Should You Have on Hand?
In speaking with our customers, the number one question we hear is “How much should I buy for this year?” It’s a tricky question! All kids are different. All families are different. But over the years, we’ve found the one question that matters most: How often do you do laundry? Not “How often would you like to do laundry?” How often do you actually bring the hampers to the laundry room and throw stuff in the washer.
First, let’s make a couple of assumptions:
1. You want your child to have clean clothes.
2. Your definition of ‘clean’ matches ours: one wear, then wash.
Good? The following chart illustrates our best estimate for the number of pieces you’ll need given your laundry routine.
It makes sense, right? If you do laundry once per week, you need a fresh outfit for every day of the week. If your laundry routine is more frequent, you can get away with having fewer items on-hand.
Functionally, the result is the same: your child is wearing clean clothes every day. And since we guarantee our clothing will last the entire year, you can wash as much or as little as you want without worrying about fading or pilling.
We’re here for you!
We never want you to face these daunting questions alone. The school year is stressful enough, so if you ever have a question, get in touch with us or talk to your school’s representative. We love school uniforms. We love when parents make the right choices for their family. We’re here to help!
